I have just realized that all the forum is devoted to selling unwanted strada saddles! has no one anything to say about the wonderful saddles and how their horses appreciate them? I must admit that I sold my pony I got the saddle for but while I had it he really did go so much better in it. I found it really good to ride in. The only reason I stopped was because I lost my nerve. My new horse is such a sweety but I still wonder if he will suddenly freak out and this is why at the moment I am still in a  conventional saddle and not a strada. I am worried I may have to give up all together and don't want to splash out lots of money. How does everyone else get on. Anyone else out there gone through what I am now experiencing? It is so difficult, I don't want to ride a lot of the time but don't want to call it a day either. Any ideas how to get back on track? I am 61 and not ready to hang up my boots but get so anxious before I ride and at the moment wont go out on my own. Let me know your thoughts Jill

Hi Jill

You don't hear that much as because once saddle fit has ceased to become
a problem you forget about it!!!

I sell saddles occasionally but it doesn't mean I don't get on with them!

I have had these wonderful saddles for coming up 14 yrs now and I would never and I repeat that NEVER go back to a "conventional" saddle EVER again.
I have looked at all the alternatives looking at wow, reactor  panel etc, dallying with a treeless phase.  I was to Saddles what Imelda Marcos was to shoes!!!

I can honestly say that I don't have trouble with sore backs, no therapist that has worked on my ponies has found any problem linked to current poor saddle fit. (Although we have had inherited ones that Strada's, & Michela Ling's before them have helped us straighten out!)
I use them on everything from an 11.2 Dartmoor (yes really!) to a 16hh Andalusian.

After a brief affair with Balance, I was introduced to the ML idea by a physiotherapist who sold reactorpanels.  I was one sided due to a neurological problem at the time  and she begged me not to buy a reactor panel but to look at a saddle that never took on the foibles of the rider or the horse for that matter, ergo the then Michela Ling.

What can I say other than that first difficult to fit mare with her intolerance to bad saddles by the time she came into my life took me on a journey punctuated with teeth and heels, scared looking saddle fitters & even full refunds and saddler funded back specialist fees until we met David Bowler.  We owe him the  comfort and security of our last years together and for that alone I would be eternally grateful.

Since then every pony I have had has had a ML, Strada saddle even though none of them are as fussy as Holly THE Chestnut Mare I know by their countenance and their paces that they are happy with the saddle.

In short if anyone wants to listen I am happy to sing the praises of this wonderful saddle and the people who promote it just ask any of my open minded friends, it's likely they are Strada Customers too!! I don't bang on about them to those that are not ready to hear, and that is a lot I'm afraid to say but slowly and surely there are more people in the Strada family.

I hope that this goes some way to putting aside your fears that these are a fashion or only buy once item. They are not for everyone, if you have poor natural balance and like to sit in a vice like fanny grabber you will probably fall off one of these as the strada seat allows you to find your own centre of gravity and sit accordingly, nothing holds you on.  If you have ever ridden bareback and enjoyed it then this saddle will answer your question of why they can't make a saddle that allows you to balance yourself and truly go with the movement, they can and it's a Strada!

Is that enthusiastic enough!?

Regards
Pippa

Here Here Pippa!

I have ...errr.... 5 of these saddles and I doubt I will ever part with any of them... just in case!

Short version, I could have gone on for pages about how these saddles have helped my horses and me be as happy as we can be the past 10 years.  The last thing I worry about is sore backs! Both physio and ostio visits are non back issues always!
