I have a purebred arab mare who is 4 years old. She is very wide and I am struggling to get a saddle to fit. Currently using an xw synthetic but would love another strada . I ride my other arab in an IC fit but this just rides up her neck.Can only afford 2nd hand this time so any suggestions as to which size would be suitable for her.

I have just realized that all the forum is devoted to selling unwanted strada saddles! has no one anything to say about the wonderful saddles and how their horses appreciate them? I must admit that I sold my pony I got the saddle for but while I had it he really did go so much better in it. I found it really good to ride in. The only reason I stopped was because I lost my nerve. My new horse is such a sweety but I still wonder if he will suddenly freak out and this is why at the moment I am still in a conventional saddle and not a strada. I am worried I may have to give up all together and don't want to splash out lots of money. How does everyone else get on. Anyone else out there gone through what I am now experiencing? It is so difficult, I don't want to ride a lot of the time but don't want to call it a day either. Any ideas how to get back on track? I am 61 and not ready to hang up my boots but get so anxious before I ride and at the moment wont go out on my own. Let me know your thoughts Jill

nearly new vienna C fit

I have a nearly new c fit vienna in havana brown. This is a beautiful saddle and only for sale as I have sold the pony it was bought for and it does not fit my new horse. I want a strada for the new horse but as he is only 5 and a bit lively would like to get the more forward cut one! I am asking 1250 as it really is as new. This may seem a lot but if you want a new one it will cost 1600 and you have to wait 6 weeks! In no hurry to sell but if interested let me know, Jill

Vienna saddle for sale

Due to loss of horse I am selling my black dressage saddle. It's in very good condition as hardly used for 2 years and then only lightly used the 2 years prior to that.

It's an 'S' fit and has 36mm panels which is thicker than the normal thickness. Suited my large TBX han eventer.

Saddle Moving Forward

Any helpful suggestions/ideas for this on-going problem would be appreciated.

I have an I fit Strada GP saddle which appears to fit my pure bred Arab well, but constantly moves forward particularly when he is lunged, and in canter with a rider. The horse has good conformation, relatively short back with powerful quarters, a long flat sloping shoulder with a very forward girth groove. I have tried different girths, different numnahs etc. and in the past different saddles but the problem is still the same! As it is most obvious when the horse is lunged I don't think it is a rider problem!

Do I give up riding? Would a different tree make a difference?
